Ladies Mountain Bike Camp
Oaxaca City is recognized worldwide for its history, unique culture, traditions, gastronomy and nowadays a paradise for mountain bikers. This trip is designed by Emily Slaco and the Transierra Norte Race Director, Alvin, in order to provide the best riding and cultural experience for lady shredders. You can expect a great mountain bike adventure where you will improve your riding skills on some of the most unique singletrack you can imagine. Enjoy the warm hospitality that Oaxaca has to offer and visit some of the most interesting cultural spots.
Day 1
Your guides will pick you up at Oaxaca City International airport and drive you to your hotel where bikes will be assembled to then have a short briefing in regards to the whole trip.
Day 2
After breakfast in your hotel and 40 minutes of shuttling, we will arrive at the village of la “Guacamaya”, a small community 2500 m over sea level where the first Mountain Bike Enduro race ever in Mexico took place. We will spend the next two nights here in beautiful mountain cabins. Expect a great mix of riding from good dirt and fun quick corners inside of oak and pine trees to rocky and flowy fast sections. We will pedal 3km to warm up before our first descent and second descents to then shuttle back up for a third run. After a delicious and traditional dinner, we will have a bonfire under the stars before going to bed.
Riding Stats of the Day --> 14 KM in 3 different trails, 160 m of climbing and 1200 m of elevation loss.
Day 3
We will have coffee and breakfast at the cabins before jumping into a quick bike check and skills clinic. Today you will ride one of the classics in the area, a trail with great variety of vegetation, terrain and different sections to put those new skills in practice with the hand of your guides. Have you ever done a night ride? Tonight we have an optional night ride, your guides will assist you to prepare yourself and set up the lamps on your bike.
Riding Stats of the Day --> 21 KM in 3 different trails, 240 m of climbing and 2100 m of elevation loss.
Day 4
Today we will ride one of the locals favorite trails in the area to then load up the shuttles and visit the Zapotec temple of Montealban. We will check in our hotel and get ready for a delicious dinner in Oaxaca´s historical downtown.
Riding Stats of the Day --> 12 KM in 1 trail, 120 m of climbing and 1380 m of elevation loss.
Day 5
Today we will let our bikes rest and we will walk down to the central market for breakfast, visit the petrified waterfalls of "Hierve el Agua", learn about the Mezcal process in a distillery and visit a town famous for its textiles.
Day 6
Today we have a great combination of pedaling on a beautiful double-track road inside of the pine forest and descending the longest singletrack in the area, we will jump into an adventure across the Sierra Norte and 2 of its communities.
Riding Stats of the Day --> 30 KM in 1 trail, 470 m of climbing and 1460 m of elevation loss.
Day 7
To wrap this amazing trip and relax the legs we will do shuttle laps on short but super fun flowy hand-built trails for the Transierra Norte Enduro race. Fun laps all-day and delicious dinner planned.
Riding Stats of the Day --> 16 KM in 5 different trails, 90 m of climbing and 1420 m of elevation loss.
Day 8
Your guides will make sure to drop you off at the airport on time to catch your flight back home.
